I knew a girl in high school who believed that the song "Orange Crush" by REM was about the soda. She also once tried to pull my dad into a discussion about his cigarettes, which is an obvious no-no if you know anything about my family at all. (My dad is tuff--he smokes Lucky Strikes and filterless Camels. He is haggard.) Whenever I think of REM, I wind up thinking of Chris Elliot.
